On 01/12/2018, at 12:30 AM, an Augusta University Police Officer observed a vehicle stopped on 15th Street adjacent to Lot 38, occupied with two male subjects arguing.  One of the male subjects, raised his right hand firing a black semi-automatic pistol into the air.  Officers approach the subject and arrested him without incident.  Officers took control of the weapon.  No injuries were reported at the scene.  The subject was checked through GCIC and he was found to be a convicted felon.  A search found a clear plastic bag containing a green leafy substance that tested positive for THC.  Officers took the weapon and Marijuana as evidence.  The second subject was questioned and stated his was hearing voices, who was transported him to the Augusta University ER for treatment.  The first subject was charged with Reckless Conduct, Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of Marijuana, transported and booked into the Richmond County Jail.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.
