On 04/21/2017, at 1:00 PM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Digestive Health Center room AD-2260 in reference to a theft.  The victim stated that a female call her prior to her appointment telling her to bring all of her medications.  A female contacted the victim after her appointment in the first floor lobby, requesting to check the victim’s medication.  It was observed that the female while checking the medication put it in her hand then in her shoe.  The female was confronted by staff and 20 Clonazepam, 32 Tramadol, and 1 Hydrocodone were found in her shoe.  Officers detained the female subject, was read her rights, and told Officers she took 4 or 5 Clonazepam from the victim medication bottle.  The subject was arrested, processed and booked into the Richmond County Jail on the following charges:  Obtaining Controlled Substance by Theft and Possession of Controlled Substance.  The subject was identified as an Augusta University Medical Center employee.  Anyone with additional information about this incident may contact the AU Police Department at 706-721-2911.
