On 03/10/2019, at 12:29 AM, Augusta University Police responded to the Augusta University Medical Center (AUMC) Emergency Room in reference to a report of Domestic Violence. The Officer made contact with the witness/employee. The witness/employee stated the victim/patient was combative with AUMC Staff and that the offender/mother of the victim/patient grabbed her around the throat, pressed her back into the hospital bed and stood over her screaming/yelling. Due to the victim/patient’s medical condition at the time of the report the Officers did not interview her. The offender/mother admitted to the witnessed actions but stated she did so in an attempt to retrain the victim/patient.
