On 11/30/2021 at approximately 2:10 p.m., Officers responded to Parking Deck 1, at 1120 15th Street Augusta, GA, in reference to suspected drug use inside a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the visitor/offender and detected the odor of burned marijuana. Officers conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and discovered a small amount of a green leafy substance, later positively identified as marijuana. During the search, officers also discovered a 9mm pistol. Further investigation revealed that the visitor/offender was also a convicted felon. The visitor/offender was subsequently arrested and transported to the Richmond County Jail. Applicable warrants were obtained.
