On 02/09/2018, at 11:27 AM, Augusta University’s Police Department and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a report of a shooting in Parking Lot 33 of the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. It was determined the shooting was a domestic violence targeted attack and that the attacker had departed the area. A female victim, an Augusta University employee, died in the shooting. The subject remains at large. The subject has been identified and a search continues. Warrants have been obtained charging the subject with Murder. The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency for the investigation and will be in charge of releasing any additional information.
